Born in 1971 to an English Father and American Mother, he spent most of his childhood moving between England and America. When his parents divorced he settled in England with his Father.
Dismissed from his Fine Art degree course in 1992, he moved to America and attended art school in Connecticut. In the following year he was dismissed and, without a degree, he moved to New York to make his name. For the next three years he worked solely in America and became one of the most successful artists of his generation and an extremely popular media figure.
